چکیده:
Nowadays, Urban communities are faced by many challenges. Rapid urban growth, increased energy consumption and air pollution have become a major crisis for macro policy-makers of country especially in developing countries. So, researchers are searching for a solution for this problem. The term Green Roof (garden roof) is said to a roof of the building that a part of that all if its parts are covered with a growing culture medium. In addition to creating a green space on the roof, it has a positive effect on city climate and temperature inside the building. And it avoids the sun’s rays and plays a significant role in space cooling. It should be noted that about 35% of heat absorption in summer is done by roof. As a result, one of the reduction solutions of energy consumption in residential houses in the metropolitan is the construction of green roofs. The present study is done by using descriptive and analytical method and library resources and field samples. At it investigates the effect of green roofs to reduce energy consumption in the residential houses.
